Training for Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

CCNA tests whether you can run a small-to-medium enterprise network: subnetting, VLANs and routing, device hardening and controller-based networking. The training ties each concept to its command and to the symptom you see when it fails.

About the training

Connect specialist knowledge to practice.

CCNA tests whether you can run a small-to-medium enterprise network: subnetting, VLANs and routing, device hardening and controller-based networking. The training ties each concept to its command and to the symptom you see when it fails.

What will you learn?

  • 01

Subnet IPv4: And configure IPv6 addresses without a calculator.

  • 02

Configure a switch and router: From base commands to VLANs and OSPF.

  • 03

Troubleshoot faults: From the physical layer up to routing.

  • 04

Order revision by weight: Starting with the domain that counts most.

Is this training right for you?

  • Work in IT support or a data center: And want to understand the cause, not just restart the device.
  • Are a computing or IT graduate: And need a recognised practical networking foundation.
  • Work hands-on with Cisco devices: And want to organize what you learned on the job.
  • Manage IT and need network depth: To discuss designs precisely with your team and vendors.
Network administrator
Adds users and devices, monitors links and adjusts configuration.
Network support technician
Takes the ticket, isolates the fault and restores service.
Junior network engineer
Implements the team’s design: VLANs, routing and ACLs.
Data center technician
Connects servers and switches and verifies connectivity.

Topics and applications

Your training map in detail.

01

Exam 200-301 blueprint · Network Fundamentals

Network components and link types; IPv4 addressing and subnetting; IPv6 addressing and address types; Wireless and virtualization basics

02

Exam 200-301 blueprint · Network Access

VLANs and inter-switch trunks; Discovery protocols and EtherChannel; Loop prevention with STP; Wireless architecture and access points

03

Exam 200-301 blueprint · IP Connectivity

Reading the routing table; How a router chooses a path; Static routing; Single-area OSPFv2

04

Exam 200-301 blueprint · IP Services

NAT, DHCP and DNS; Time synchronization with NTP; SNMP and syslog; Remote device access over SSH

05

Exam 200-301 blueprint · Security Fundamentals

Threats and mitigation; Passwords and device hardening; Access control lists; Port and wireless security

06

Exam 200-301 blueprint · Automation and Programmability

Controller-based networking; REST APIs; Reading JSON data; Configuration management tools

07

Addressing and switching

Subnet accurately, separate departments into VLANs, connect switches with trunks and see why STP blocks a port. Finance users land on the guest network after a desk move.

08

Routing

Read the routing table, use static and default routes, run OSPF and verify neighbors. A branch reaches the internet but not head office.

09

Services, security and automation

Address translation and assignment, ACLs, device hardening, and reading JSON from a REST API. A new ACL stopped a service nobody meant to block.

How to organize your study

  • Start with addressing: Move on once you can subnet in under a minute.
  • Build a small network: Two switches and a router: VLANs, trunks, then inter-VLAN routing.
  • Add routing: A static route, then OSPF; verify neighbors and the table.
  • Add services and security: DHCP, NAT and ACLs on the same network.
  • Close the smaller domains: Automation and wireless concepts and terms.
  • Revise by weight and error: Start with IP Connectivity, then redo every missed question.

Before applying for the credential

No formal prerequisites: Cisco requires no prior qualification or exam for CCNA. Useful experience: Cisco notes candidates often benefit from a year or more implementing and administering Cisco solutions. Booking and renewal: The exam is booked through Pearson VUE; the certification is valid for three years and renewable.

Questions about this specialty

What does CCNA training focus on?

The topics cover network foundations, network access, ip connectivity, ip services, security foundations, automation and programmability, with application connecting knowledge to work.

How can I check the level fits me?

Compare your responsibilities with the topics and roles, then discuss your background and networking goals with our team.

How should I plan my study?

Set your weekly time and baseline knowledge, prioritize weaker topics and use regular application and spaced revision.

Where do I check credential requirements?

Use the credential-owner reference in this guide. Exam fees and registration are separate from training unless an approved offer explicitly states otherwise.
