About the training

Connect specialist knowledge to practice.

Most employees use a small part of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and lose time to manual formatting and copying data. The training builds an organized way of working in each app and helps you choose the exams that make up your credential.

What will you learn?

  • 01

Build a long document: With headings, contents and numbering that update themselves.

  • 02

Build a reliable spreadsheet: With formulas that copy without breaking.

  • 03

Design a consistent deck: From one template, with clear charts.

  • 04

Choose your credential path: From Associate to Expert.

Is this training right for you?

  • Are an administrator or executive assistant: And produce letters, reports and decks all the time.
  • Work in HR or finance: And handle large spreadsheets every week.
  • Are a student or graduate: And want a Microsoft credential for your office skills.
  • Teach computer skills: And want a structured frame for what you teach.

Your training map in detail.

01

02

Core-level exams · Excel · MO-210

03

Core-level exams · PowerPoint · MO-310

04

Core-level exams · Outlook · MO-400 (2019)

05

Structured documents

Heading styles and a table of contents, sections and page numbering, comments and tracked changes. A long report loses its numbering whenever someone adds a paragraph.

06

Data and formulas

Tables, relative and absolute references, common functions, and a chart that shows the trend. A monthly sales total is added by hand and differs every time.

07

Presenting and communicating

One template for every slide, a chart instead of a crowded table, and organized email and meetings. A board deck uses different fonts and colors on each slide.

How to organize your study

  • Choose your Associate apps: Three different programs, one from Microsoft 365 Apps.
  • Start with the app closest to your work: A first pass sets the rhythm.
  • Master the five Excel skills: From managing workbooks to charts.
  • Practice against time: Fifty minutes per exam, so measure your speed early.
  • Sit the third exam: To earn the Associate.
  • Decide on Expert: Two exams in Word or Excel for those who want depth.

Before applying for the credential

Recommended experience: The Excel exam page recommends about 150 hours of hands-on use first. Validity: Earned on or after 23 Sep 2025: valid five years, renewable once for three. Earlier MOS does not expire. Exam version: MOS 2016 exams retired on 30 June 2026; confirm the version before booking.
